One of the primary objectives of Sonadi is Animal Birth Control or ABC, as it is better known. Sonadi is currently responsible for ABC operations in areas of Najafgarh & Dwarka in New Delhi under the aegis of Municipal Corporation of Delhi & Animal Welfare Board.
Between 1994 & 2000, Mrs. Vandana Sen along with the help of Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre and Friendicoes started Animal Birth Control Campaign in Chittaranjan Park & Madangir areas in New Delhi; and managed to do about 500 operations every year.
Since 2001 Sonadi has done nearly 21000 ABC operations and currently does approx. 5000 ABC operations per year.
